Do your press releases still look the same as they did 10 years ago? Is the 'latest news' section of your website just a list of your latest press releases? This conference looks at the evolution of press and media relations through online communications and social media.

Here at the CIPR Education and Skills sector group we have commissioned a study into the use of online resources to enhance press and media relations in the education sector. How are organisations enhancing their press announcements through 'virtual' news rooms? How does multimedia content enhance a traditional press release? How can social media be used for communications with journalists and key bloggers? What barriers to internal management structures present? This conference will report the initial findings of that research and help to shape a report to be published later in the summer. If you haven't already done so, you can help with our research by completing a short online survey here (you might even win a free place at this conference for doing so*).
